Racquet Club Road Estates Discussion

Welcome to our neighborhood blog!
Hello and welcome to all you fellow modern pioneers reclaiming the modern heritage of your homes in Racquet Club Road Estates and beyond!
I've been promising a blog now for some time and I finally made myself sit down and figure it out...well sort of.  So my hope is that this might serve as a neighborhood town hall. Since so many of us own a home but don't actually live in RCRE it would seem that our best hope for meeting, discussing, organizing and taking action would be in cyberspace (but of course, we're modern like the Jetsons!).
I've started with a couple of topics and will be adding more and will be glad to add topics per your requests. I'll do my best to keep it updated and get your comments and responses up as quickly as I can, assuming I can.
Cheers!

Signs designating "Racquet Club Road Estates"???

I think it would be a great asset to our neighborhood to get some signs or markers up at different entrances to the neighborhood letting people know that they are in "The Racquet Club Road Estates". The historical importance of our tract, as the largest concentration of Alexander Palmer and Krisel homes in Palm Springs, is under appreciated and signage would be a step in establishing it's signifigance in the communities conciousnesss. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get this going? Should we take up a collection? Approach City Hall?

Huge Blinking Cell Tower in Victoria Park
The cell tower they put up on the school property next to the park is an eyesore and particularly unfair to the houses on McCarn and Sunair. It's ridiculously out of scale for the location and there was not even any attempt to camaflouge it like they do on the side of freeways, for gods sake! I owned in the neighborhood when they put it up and I never recieved any notification- Did anybody? Would that be grounds for challenging it now? Even though it's been there a couple of years we should agitate to get rid of it as an unfair nuisance that spoils views and hurts property values. It shouldn't be in the middle of a neighborhood. Shall we start a petition?
